Clinical Intervention
"Show up. Be firm. Love much..." –Rachel Marie Martin
When someone you love is struggling with substance use or mental health challenges, it can feel overwhelming, isolating, and impossible to know where to begin. Using the Love First model, I guide families through a process that is both structured and deeply compassionate—transforming fear and frustration into clarity, connection, and action. The Love First approach is grounded in the belief that we don’t need to wait for someone to “hit bottom” before offering help. Instead, we create a loving and honest turning point by bringing together the people who care most—family, friends, and trusted supporters—in a way that is thoughtful, clear, and supportive. It’s not about confrontation or control. It’s about delivering heartfelt truth with empathy, love, and unwavering boundaries. As your interventionist, I work closely with you and your family to plan and prepare every detail of the process. We identify who should be involved, write meaningful letters, clarify each person’s role, and create a plan that supports your loved one in hearing what they need to hear—without shame or blame. The intervention itself becomes a carefully structured moment of truth, where your loved one is met with compassion, concern, and a clear path toward change. While the intervention day is important, it’s only one part of the journey. I also help with the logistics of treatment placement, transportation, admissions coordination, and post-intervention support. My goal is to walk with you through the entire process—not just up to the door, but through it. This model is effective because it honors both the emotional and practical realities of addiction and mental health challanges. It creates space for honesty while maintaining connection. It prioritizes love while holding clear, firm boundaries. And it gives families a way to take meaningful action—even when things feel chaotic or out of control. If you’re here, it likely means you care deeply and have already tried many things on your own. You’re not alone. You don’t have to figure this out by yourself. I’m here to help you take the next step—with clarity, support, and love at the center of it all.
